Special Birth to Three Graduate Degree Program Launch Event

To celebrate the re-launch of Wheelock College’s Birth to Three: Infant, Toddler, & Family Specialist Master’s Degree program, the college will host a talk by Dr. Betty Bardige, a respected developmental psychologist, author, and advocate who is passionate about supporting young children’s language and literacy. She is the author of “Talk to Me, Baby,” “Building Literacy with Love,” and “Poems to Learn to Read By.”

Join Dr. Bardige April 26, 2017, 6 – 8 p.m. on Wheelock’s Brookline Campus. Her talk is titled, “New Developments in Supporting Toddlers’ Language: Implications for Practice.”

This newly revised graduate program—which includes updated courses—is designed for professionals interested in the in-depth study of infant and toddler behavior and development, learning environments, and curriculum development for infant, toddler, and family-supported programs in a variety of settings.

Students in this 30-credit master’s program will be prepared for positions as infant and toddler specialists, administrators of child care centers, public policy advocates, and leaders in early intervention and Early Head Start.

Students will have opportunities for practica in settings that can lead to certification in teaching (Teacher, Lead Teacher) and administration (Director I) from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and/or the Department of Public Health.

  • Wheelock has been a national leader in preparing graduate students to work in programs for infants and toddlers since the 1970s.
  • All faculty in Wheelock’s Birth to Three M.S. program have extensive experience working in a variety of birth to three settings in educational, clinical, and administrative roles.
  • Faculty advisors work closely with each student to create an individualized study plan tailored to the student’s professional and personal goals.
  • Classes are offered conveniently in evenings and on weekends.
  • Tuition is just $700 per graduate credit (and financial aid is available).
